While I was reading this novel, I saw me in almost all the characters. First is Katniss. The way I saw myself in Katniss is the way she just had a fire, and was always looking for a way to figure life situations out. This is me, because I often ask questions about my life, such as why am I here, or why did I go through this. This showed me that there is usually an answer to that, and I don't have to run from it, but be able to confront it, and face it. Another way I saw myself in another character is I saw myself in Peeta Mallark. He is so confused about his life in this book, and is often wondering is this true or not. He had a reason for this, however, and I don't really. But still, I ask the question of who am I, and what in life is true. I also saw a little bit of myself in Gale. This is because I often try to fix other people's problems and help others out before I look at the shattered life that I live. Gale puts everything aside to help Katniss out. I do that as well, even if it means that I put aside my own problems, and struggles, just to help one person. This isn't bad, it's just a character trait. As I read through this, I realized that I just can't complain about my life situations, cause I know that someone is always going to have it worse than I do, and I should be trying my best to help out, and not just sit and complain. I complain a lot about life, and that needs to stop. Also, I learned that I can't just forget about my problems. Forgetting about the problem only makes the problem bigger, stronger, and a lot worse. I think other readers might get the message that they should be more willing to help out, because most people are too selfish to even care about other's problems. People see the world as a place where they can live out their own life and not have to worry about others, but God says to trust that his plan is great. Even if it means stepping out of your comfort zones to help one person out, that's what we should do. I see myself the most as Gale, because my whole life I've been putting aside my own to help others out, and that is my biggest trait.
